Common questions

Pageroll only captures the visible area on some pages

Chrome doesn’t let extensions scroll or run scripts on its own pages — chrome:// pages, the New Tab page, the Chrome Web Store and Chrome’s PDF viewer. There Pageroll captures the visible area only. On normal websites, choose Full page.

The full-page capture stops at the visible area on a normal website

Some sites lock scrolling while a cookie banner or sign-up pop-up is open. Close the pop-up, then capture again. Pageroll shows a notice when a page blocks scrolling.

The capture was cancelled

A capture stops if you switch tabs, close or reload the page, or press Esc while it runs. Keep the tab in front until the progress on the toolbar icon finishes.

I can’t capture files opened from my computer

Open chrome://extensions, click Details under Pageroll and turn on Allow access to file URLs. Then reload the file and capture again.

A keyboard shortcut doesn’t work

Another extension may use the same keys. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and set the Pageroll shortcuts you like. Defaults: Alt+Shift+1 full page, Alt+Shift+2 visible area, Alt+Shift+3 select an area, Alt+Shift+K open the menu.

A very long page was cut off

Pageroll captures up to 50,000 px of page height, which also protects against pages that keep loading more content forever. Exports that are too large for one file are split into numbered parts.

Where are my files saved?

Downloads go to Chrome’s Downloads folder. Turn on Ask where to save each file in Options › Export to choose a folder each time, or add a subfolder to the file name template there.

How do I change the language?

Open Pageroll’s Options › General › Language and pick one of 16 languages — including Shqip — or let Pageroll follow your browser.

How do I delete my captures?

Open the Pageroll library to delete single captures, or use Delete all. Pageroll keeps the latest 100 captures by default and removes older ones automatically; you can change the limit in Options.
